Ensure Your Vehicle Meets CARB Compliance Standards with Ease

At Wells Logistic Solutions, our mission is to deliver hassle-free California Air Resources Board (CARB) compliance testing and reporting as required by the State of California’s Clean Truck Check Program.

As Owner/Operators, we understand the complexities of navigating CARB’s system and meet the same challenges other owners face in order to remain compliant throughout the year.

We are a CARB Available to Hire Credentialed Tester capable of testing OBD equipped vehicles that are:

2013 or newer diesel engines
2018 or newer alternate fuel engines

What does it mean to be CARB Compliant?

Being CARB compliant means that you operate a vehicle subject to California’s Clean Truck Check (HD I/M) program, and have completed all of the steps required for program compliance by the State of California.

Who needs to pass a Clean Truck Check for CARB compliance?

Clean Truck Check applies to nearly all diesel and alternative fuel heavy-duty vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) over 14,000 pounds that operate on California public roads and highways even if they are not registered in California

This includes public vehicles (federal, state, and local government); motorcoaches; transit, shuttle and school buses; hybrid vehicles; commercial vehicles; personal vehicles; California registered motorhomes; single vehicle fleets; and vehicles registered outside of California (not including motorhomes).

How to pass CARB’s Clean Truck Check?

  1. Report the vehicle to the State of California
  2. Pay the annual compliance fee before testing
  3. Submit passing Clean Truck Check admissions
  4. Satisfy any outstanding enforcement violations

What happens if a vehicle does not pass the Clean Truck Check?

If a vehicle does not pass the Clean Truck Check, and is flagged as non-compliant in CARB’s system, it is illegal to operate on California public roads and highways, and owners may incur registration holds, fines, or enforcement action. Additionally, non-compliant vehicles may be denied access to ports, freight terminals, or work zones that require CARB compliance. Click here for more information

When does compliance reporting need to happen?

Compliance testing must be performed by a CARB credentialed tester and passing tests may be submitted by the tester up to 90 days prior to the vehicle’s compliance deadline to allow time for any necessary repairs. Click here for greater explanation in Table I

Where does compliance testing take place?

Compliance testing can take place anywhere, as long as it is completed by a CARB credentialed tester. Wells Logistics Solutions regularly meets owners at truck accessible locations in Jacksonville, Orlando and other cities throughout Central Florida. Travel fees added for locations outside of the Daytona Beach Metro Area.

How Does it Work?

It starts by setting up an appointment and then getting test ready

1. Ensure Test Readiness

Review CARB’s OBD readiness criteria to ensure your OBD equipped vehicle is set up for a successful test reading.

2. Complete Warm Up Cycle on Testing Day

Raise engine coolant by at least 40 degrees after engine is started (at least 140 for diesel and 160 for natural gas).

3. Payment Due at Time of Testing

Testing costs $140 per vehicle (discounts for fleets available). We regularly meet owners at truck accessible locations in Jacksonville, Orlando and other cities throughout Central Florida. Travel fees added for locations outside of the Daytona Beach Metro Area.
